There were 19 men at Royal Yea Saturday to contest the Monthly Medal. The sun had forgotten to shine for a couple of days and the foggy mist enabled many golfers to hit the ball out of sight! Scores were not great in the wetish conditions but half the field were within 3 shots of each other.
Winner on CB was Bill Dredge(20 with a nett 75 from Alan Pell(15). Third on CB was Rick Wills(9) from fourth Brian Simmons(11) with nett 76. Others on 76 were Steve Wealands(17), Ray Partridge(27), Jeff Aurisch(17) and Martin Lowe(16). NTP on the 2nd was Steve Wealands and the putting on CB was won by Alan Pell with 28 putts from Bill Dredge. Wednesday sees a stableford round to be played with next Saturday being the second round of the Prideaux Cup.
