Mary Walker Foursomes

On Saturday we had 14 pairs compete in Canadian Foursomes to celebrate the contribution of the late Mary Walker to our club. She was lady”s Captain and Club President during the late 90”s. It was great to see family and visitors attending the day as well. Laurie Quinlan representing the family spoke of Mary”s enthusiasm and dedication to golf after she gave up nursing. It was wonderful to see Myrna Patterson, Norma Tobias, Lorraine Calllander and Mary-Fran Coonan all attend the afternoon tea, as well as Millie Cumming playing on the day with her grandson Campbell.

Winners of the day were Di Elliott(27) and Michael Sheather(29) with 90 off the stick nett 69. Second were Phil(19) and Cindy Armstrong(34) with 89 gross 69.125. Third were Russ Wealands(21) and Sharon Grogan(31) with 90 gross 70.5 nett. Fourth were Rick(6) and Judy Wills(30) with 86 gross 72.5 nett.

NTP on the 2nd was Alan Pell, the 14th Rick Wills and the 18th Mic Sheather and Karen Sangster. Club Award went to Alan Pell.

There was also a Men’s Stableford on Saturday with 9 players. Brendan “Trout” Chenhall(12) won with 38 points from Bill Dredge(200 with 37. NTP on 14th was Mic Spagnolo.

Chooklotto stubbie holder was won by Vicki Clements and the bottles of red were won by Cindy Armstrong and Norma Tobias.
